The Great Darkness (Sonic AU Design)

Mobius was created by the hands of Mephiles and Iblis. in the Beginning, the Great Flame appeared along with the Great Darkness. The two did everything together as they created the world be each other's side. But one day, when the Mobians attacked Mephiles, Iblis chose their side and fought Mephiles. He was left beaten and severely burned as you can see. Iblis made sure to leave a permanent mark in reminding him that the Mobians hated him for his darkness. His feet were also crushed in their fight, leaving him unable to walk. If he were to try and stand, he would simply tumble over.

Mephiles mostly hides alone in caves deep in the Land of Darkness. Usually sulking and plotting on how to destroy the chaos emeralds since they're responsible for him being trapped in the Land of Darkness. He also keeps a nice big mirror in the main room he spends time in, always there to remind hi of the day everyone turned their backs on him. Spending hours just sitting in front of it, thinking and plotting, hating and grieving. It's like his friend almost.

Mephiles also has the power to create Shadows. These little Darklings float around his home, looking out for threats and people to take energy from. They don't attack any of the Dark Mobians created by Mephiles since they aren't enemies. But if they ARE enemies from the other kingdoms, they won't hesitate to attack. Though they're half the size of a normal Mobian, they are dangerous to pretty much everyone. They're quick, sneaky, and good at what they do, which is steal Chaos energy form people.

A lot of the Mobians he created by himself ended up looking like him. Red eyes, black color, and usually red or purple stripes. Occasionally there would be one that was opposite of this color, such as white with black stripes like what Blaze has. Since Iblis is no longer by his side to provide the Dark Mobians with a light Soul, they're all created in darkness without much life inside of them. The only real things they feel is Anger, Sadness, and a bit of excitement. They're usually simple people without complex personalities, much like Mephiles.

Anyone with red eyes is assumed to be created by Mephiles, and is thrown out or banished. At worst people are killed if they did something wrong. Similar to what happened to Shadow, which is something I will cover now.

Shadow was created in Darkness. His colors are that of a Dark Mobian, and his strange powers also add to the affect. Back when Shadow was a mere child, the people he grew up with in the Mountain clans disliked how he resembled the Darkness, and they attempted to get rid of him. This included beating him and trying to banish him. Somehow the child still stuck around, saying that he needed to stay, but they wouldn't tolerate it. The clan took Shadow and threw him off the mountain and into the forest, shouting at him so he'd never come back. Of course, he ha enough and decided he needed to leave. That all happened when he was 12, so he was still fairly young. Though he was lucky to find Sonic and Amy in the forest the next day. They kindly helped him get better and let him join their clan.

The reason for Shadow getting headaches is from his imbalance of power. Sometimes he wears himself out too much when hunting, and has to stop entirely until he regains his strength. After discovering he could chaos control, he used his power for it and his head only got worse. So no warping for this hedgehog. Shadow is also immortal from being a Dark Mobian.

The place you see at the bottom of the picture is the Land of Darkness. This area is a huge landmass miles away from the Fire kingdom. This is the place Shadow and Blaze were born. The area is cold, dark, and flows with negative energy. The place is mostly lifeless, and isn't home for many people. Prey and food is hard to find unless you know where to get it, such as Infinite's team.

Infinite and his clan live around these parts, and never saw the Fire Kingdom. So they're pretty far from meeting anyone new. Infinite himself has met Mephiles before. They didn't say much to each other, other than Infinite wanted to know where his team ran off to since they left him that day. Mephiles pointed him to where they went, knowing that he was one of his own creations. Mephiles prefers for his creations to stay together since there are so few of them. If they were always fighting, his land would die from the chaos, so he helps them the best he can even if he often stays away from them.

Mephiles has ran into Blaze once. She was with some royal explorers looking for free land to take over. They arrived at the Land of Darkness to try and take it, but everyone was killed there by Mephiles except Blaze. When she threatened him, he didn't say anything and simply floated away into the darkness leaving her unharmed.
